Business - Mattress maker Serta next in line to dump Trump

(Reuters) - U.S. mattress maker Serta said it would not renew its licensing agreement with the Trump Organization, the latest company to distance itself from real estate developer and TV personality Donald Trump, after his comments insulting Mexicans. Department store chain Macy`s Inc said on Wednesday it would phase out Trump`s line of menswear, while Comcast Corp`s NBCUniversal said it would not air his annual Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Trump slapped a $500 million lawsuit on Univision Communications Inc after the Spanish language TV network decided to end its contract to broadcast the Miss USA pageant.

The radical left government of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had lobbied for a `No` result, arguing it would strengthen its hand in negotiations with international creditors. `No one can ignore the will of the people to live, to live with determination, to take its destiny into its own hands,` Tsipras said as he cast his ballot in his Athens neighbourhood, appearing relaxed and wearing an open-necked white shirt. The question related to a bailout package that expired on Tuesday, the same day Greece became the first developed country to default on a repayment to the International Monetary Fund.

World - Lebanese Hezbollah, Syrian army enter rebel-held border city: TV

The Syrian army and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters entered the rebel-held city of Zabadani on the second day of a major offensive to capture the border area around the Beirut-Damascus highway, al Manar television reported on Sunday. The Lebanese Shi`ite group Hezbollah`s television station said its fighters and the Syrian army had entered the Jamaiyat district in the western part of the city, about 45 km (30 miles) northwest of the Syrian capital Damascus. The army, backed by Hezbollah, has long sought to wrest control of Zabadani, near the Lebanese border, from the rebels who have held it since 2012, a year after the start of the Syrian civil war.

World - China arrests man for suicide `rumors` amid stock market rout: state TV

Chinese authorities have arrested a man who allegedly spread rumors about people in Beijing jumping off buildings in response to a stock market crash, state television reported on Sunday. The 29-year-old man, surnamed Tian, was detained for `disorderly behavior`, China Central Television said. The post in question could not be found on Sunday, and may have already been deleted by censors, who strictly control what can be said on Chinese social media.

Foreign ministers from major powers were expected back in Vienna Sunday seeking to score a huge diplomatic success by nailing down a nuclear deal with Iran after almost two years of intense effort. `Extending the talks is not an option for anyone... We are trying to finish the job,` Iran`s lead negotiator Abbas Araghchi told Iranian TV late Saturday, saying there was a `positive atmosphere`. Diplomats said that on one of the thorniest issues -- sanctions relief for Iran -- a compromise may have been worked out, at least among the experts thrashing out the complex final accord.

World - Syrian army and Hezbollah launch major assault on border city: TV station

The Syrian army and its allied militia have launched a major assault on the rebel-held Syrian city of Zabadani, the Lebanese Shi`ite Hezbollah group`s television station said on Saturday. It said heavy artillery and aerial bombardment were being deployed to capture the city, located west of the Syrian capital near the frontier with Lebanon. An announcement of the start of a military campaign by the Syrian army and `resistance forces`, a term used by the Lebanese group to describe Hezbollah`s forces, had been expected in recent days.
