Kevin Love`s camaraderie with LeBron James during their time as US gold medal team-mates at the 2012 London Olympics helped convince Love to join him on the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers. The power forward obtained from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a three-team trade made his first public appearance with the Cavaliers on Tuesday, smiling as he posed for pictures with the new zero-numbered jersey he will wear when the season begins in late October. James, a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, returned to the Cavaliers last month after leaving Cleveland four years ago for Miami, where he led the Heat to two NBA titles.

Sports - Coach Rivers signs extension with Clippers

Doc Rivers, the head coach who helped his Los Angeles Clippers players navigate the turbulent waters of the Donald Sterling scandal, will stay with the club through the 2018-19 NBA season. The Clippers announced on Wednesday they had agreed a contract extension with Rivers, who led them to a franchise-best 57-25 record and a second straight Pacific Division title in his first campaign with the club. His future with the Clippers had become uncertain in the wake of the scandal involving former owner Sterling, who received a lifetime ban from the NBA after racist remarks he made to a woman friend became public. The team has since been sold for $2 billion to former Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer, who praised Rivers on Wednesday.

Sports - Clippers ship Dudley to Bucks for Delfino, Raduljica

The Los Angeles Clippers traded forward Jared Dudley to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday in an NBA deal for Argentine forward Carlos Delfino and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica. The trade also netted the Bucks a 2017 first-round NBA Draft pick from the Clippers while shipping a 2015 second-round selection to the Clippers.

Sports - Greece ace in wildcard pack, Senegal`s hot streak continues

Greece were the first team to book their spot in the knockout stage of the Basketball World Cup on Monday by beating Puerto Rico while Senegal took their second surprise scalp in as many days. Greece improved to 3-0 in Group B with a 90-79 victory over Puerto Rico as Nikos Zisis led the way with 19 points while Giannis Antetokounmpo had 15 and Nick Calathes added 14 points. Puerto Rico, who were playing without their injured leader Carlos Arroyo, dropped to 0-3 and have an up-hill battle to reach the Round of 16. Senegal carried on from where they left off in beating the Puerto Ricans on Sunday in beating Croatia 77-75 to improve to 2-1.

Playing for Slovenia at the Basketball World Cup means a lot to Goran Dragic. Slovenia have won their opening two matches in Group D and the Dragic brothers have been flying up and down the court averaging a combined 35.5 points per game. Slovenia is a country of just over two million people, making it the smallest country participating at the World Cup. With Goran and Zoran playing well and great fan support, Slovenia have a lot of momentum at the championships.

Sports - US, Spain move to 2-0 at basketball World Cup

United States and Spain both collected their second straight win at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup on Sunday while Croatia fought off tough Argentina and Senegal picked up a historic victory. Kenneth Faried led five Americans in double figures with 22 points and Anthony Davis scored 19 as the reigning champions had a fight against Turkey before prevailing 98-77 in a rematch of the 2010 final. James Harden chipped in 14 points and seven assists for the mighty Americans in Group C.
