World - Turkey won`t take part in Raqqa operation if Kurdish militants do: Erdogan spox

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan`s spokesman on Thursday ruled out the possibility of Turkey joining an operation by coalition forces against Islamic State militants in Syria`s Raqqa if Kurdish fighters also take part. It is out of the question for us to take part in an operation in which the PYD/YPG are present,` Ibrahim Kalin told an interview on state run news channel TRT Haber. Turkey considers Kurdish YPG forces fighting in Syria as closely linked to Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants, and deems both groups terrorist organizations.

Business - Delta plans regional-jet purchase for up to $2.3 billion: Bloomberg

The airline wants the option of adding as many as 50 more planes in the 70- to 76-seat range, Bloomberg reported, citing a memo sent to the pilots. Delta may eliminate the smaller planes from its fleet without giving a timeline, the report said. The pilots` union has objected to any additional 70- or 76-seat jets being flown by Delta`s regional affiliate airlines, Bloomberg reported.

World - Syrian rebel evacuation from Homs postponed for 2-3 days: governor

The governor of Homs said late on Monday the planned evacuation of several hundred Syrian rebels from their last foothold in the city would be postponed for several days because it was difficult to guarantee their safe passage. The evacuation was expected to begin on Monday to Idlib province, part of the Syrian government`s attempts to conclude local agreements with rebels in besieged areas to give them safe passage to the insurgent stronghold of Idlib in northwestern Syria. `When conditions are right, the evacuation of fighters and their families will happen straight away,` Homs Governor Talal Barazi said late on Monday.
