Sports - Victim`s sister takes stand in ex-NFL star`s murder trial

By Daniel Lovering FALL RIVER, Massachusetts (Reuters) - The sister of a man allegedly shot to death by former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez said on Monday she saw her brother get into a car outside their family`s Boston home shortly before he was killed. Shaquilla Thibou, 21, said in Massachusetts Superior Court in Fall River that she was sitting in a parked car with her boyfriend in the early hours of June 17, 2013, when her brother, Odin Lloyd, got into the silver car before it sped away. Prosecutors say Hernandez was driving the silver Nissan Altima that picked up Lloyd accompanied by two friends, Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz. They say the men drove Lloyd, 27, to an industrial park near Hernandez`s house in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, where Lloyd`s body was found later that day.    `He walked toward the car and he attempted to get into the passenger seat,` she told prosecutor William McCauley, referring to Lloyd.

Business - Exclusive: Top Fox investors seek to convert voting shares, Murdoch may benefit

By Nadia Damouni and Liana B. Baker NEW YORK (Reuters) - Several top investors in Twenty-First Century Fox Inc are pressing for the right to swap their voting shares for ordinary shares, which are trading at an unusual premium, even though the move could hand even more control of the company to Rupert Murdoch, according to people familiar with the matter. Fox`s dual-class share structure already gives the 83-year-old media mogul control over 39.7 percent of voting rights, even though he and his family hold only a 12 percent equity stake. Several Fox investors, which collectively own 8 percent of voting rights, have been unhappy about the relative performance of their shares since the company delisted from the Australian stock exchange last May, the people said. Historically, the voting shares had traded at a premium.

Fox expects a profit in `the mid $7 billion range` for the financial year ending June 2016, Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey said after the company reported quarterly results. World - Sierra Nevada red fox, one of North America`s rarest, seen at Yosemite

Biologists have spotted a Sierra Nevada red fox at Yosemite National Park in California for the first time - a sighting of one of the rarest mammals in North America, thought to number only 50 on the continent, officials said on Thursday. Wildlife biologists who went on a backcountry trip to the far northern part of the park documented sightings of the endangered animal on Dec. 13 and Jan. 4, the National Park Service said in a statement. `Confirmation of the Sierra Nevada red fox in Yosemite National Park`s vast alpine wilderness provides an opportunity to join research partners in helping to protect this imperiled animal,` Sarah Stock, a biologist at the park, said in a statement. The nearest sightings of the red fox species have been in the Sonora Pass area north of the park, where biologists have monitored a small group of the animals since 2010, officials said.

Sports - Boston-area Verizon FiOS subscribers lose access to local Fox channel

(Reuters) - Subscribers to Verizon Communications Inc`s FiOS cable TV over fiber network service in Boston lost access to Fox`s local affiliate station on Thursday due to a fee dispute with Cox Media Group, which owns the station, according to a Verizon email to customers.
